An icon, a legend. My heart is broken.

A rep for Mitchell didn’t immediately respond to comment.
As a gay boy growing up on an island in the middle of the pacific, hearing a strong, bold woman such as Gangsta Boo rap about inner strength, body positivity and owning her sexuality and strengths made me feel like I could do and say anything I wanted to- just like her.
I hate drugs, I’m not sure when this overdose epidemic will end but, we are losing so many unique, culture-shaping artists unnecessarily.
While I may have grown up in a suburb in the sun, far from any inner city, drug slangin’ or any kind of gangsta activity- hearing the way she told a story- Her story, inspired me to find fearlessness in my own music.
I credit Gangsta Boo for inspiring my musics lyricism and bold usage of expletives, without hearing her lyrics and delivery of said lyrics, I wouldn’t have had the viral songs that built the brand I own today.
R.I.P Gangsta Boo! I will forever respect your artistry and I will never forget the impact you had on my creative voice.
xoxo,
